Tips for effective bug-filing

• Check below to see if the problem has already been reported. If it has, CC yourself on the existing bug.
• Find the smallest possible set of steps that it takes to reliably reproduce the bug.
• Paste these lines into the user.js file in your profile directory, creating it if you have to:

  user_pref("browser.dom.window.dump.enabled", true);
  user_pref("javascript.options.showInConsole", true);

• Open the JavaScript console, and watch for error messages there. Copy suspicious-looking ones to the clipboard, and paste them into a bug comment.
• Run Mozilla or Thunderbird from a shell prompt or command line, or if you're running Mac OS X, have Console.app running before you launch Mozilla or Thunderbird. Watch for error messages related to AutoRewrap. Save them into a text file and insert it as an attachment to a bug.
